About Labhair Linn

Educationalist John Dewey said ‘Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself’.  That sentiment sums up Labhair Linn.

I set up Labhair Linn in 2020, as my then 9 year old son knew lots of  Irish words but couldn't put the words together in sentences. I commissioned experienced primary school teachers and offered Zoom classes in groups of only four learners. We've provided a lifeline  through Covid, enabled learners to play catch up and built confidence. We have been commissioned to deliver bespoke courses by the Wexford Local Development board to support their Social Inclusion & Community Program (SICAP). The aims of the courses are to encourage disadvantaged  6th class primary learners to complete their education through to Leaving Certificate.

Irish is our core offering, Primary and secondary school maths is offered on an ad hoc basis.
